Meet the Artist
I’m Alex — a mother, artist, and creative based in Ōtautahi Christchurch, where I was born and raised.
My path has moved through different worlds — travel, mental health, and fitness — before slowly returning me to something more essential.
After becoming a mother and navigating hearing loss, I began to slow down and turn toward creative work as a form of grounding and expression. Becoming a mum has been the most incredible, life-shifting experience of my life.
Painting now sits at the centre of my practice — a space of colour, memory, and feeling, where forms are allowed to soften and emerge. Alongside this, I also create simple digital spaces for small businesses and creatives.
I’m still deeply playful and expressive in my work and in life — I love coffee in the sunshine in the mornings, being a little ridiculous and making my loved ones laugh. I’ve been known to dance in the rain, and I spend as much time in nature as I can.
I’m so grateful you’re here, and I feel lucky to be able to share this little corner of my world with you.
This work is shaped by a simple intention: to notice, to hold, and to give form to what is becoming.
